Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”
Words have tremendous power. They have the ability to both create and destroy. They have the ability to change the course of someone’s life. The words you speak today have the potential to encourage and uplift another person. Your words, on the other hand, have the potential to drive them even deeper into despair. So choose them wisely.
Words of encouragement improve the lives of those around us. And you will benefit as you affirm others. People who express genuine encouragement to others find it easier to express gratitude, joy, and success themselves. Today, go out of your way to affirm the following three people:
WHO IS THE PERSON YOU NEED TO ENCOURAGE TODAY?
1.FAMILY MEMBER The most powerful words are those spoken by those who know us best and love us the most. They have the most power to do good or harm. If you want your child to succeed, take them aside, compliment them, and tell them why you are proud of them. A brief conversation now can have incredible long-term benefits in the future. However, our need to hear affirming words does not end when we reach the age of 20. So remind your spouse of why you love him or her. Alternatively, express your gratitude to your parents. Make the call right now.
2.FRIENDS. Many of our friends have tragic home lives. They smile on the outside to conceal their pain on the inside. Construct them. Be generous with your compliments. Send a message via e-mail. Make a quick note. Make an uninvited compliment. Speak health and well-being into the lives of others. You may not realize how desperately it needed to be heard…
3.YOURSELF. Don’t forget about yourself. We, like everyone else, require powerful words of affirmation. Remember that you have control over your thoughts; choose to change them for the better. Speak kind words to yourself today to strengthen your being and spirit. You might just start out on a completely new path.
Ways to encourage others
People that support one another are desperately needed in this world. Encouragement can be a simple act that has a big impact. Do you want to come up with new ways to encourage others? You’ll find ways to encourage others and show your appreciation for people around you in the list below.
What I like about encouraging is that God may use our actions to massively encourage others on, which is a great thing to be a part of. When you look around, you can see how desperate our world is for encouragement. Be a source of light for those who are around you!
Pick up the phone and dial a number.
Make a phone call to your friend, family member, or anybody else who has been on your mind and let them know. Don’t let another day pass without informing them that you care and are available to them.
Put your words into action
Make your words of encouragement a reality. It could be as basic as returning someone’s shopping cart to the store. Run some errands for a sick pal. To assist a neighbor, take the garbage can to the curb.
Make a happy face.
Smiling is a simple but effective approach to inspire others. We have so much to be thankful for; let your smile be a part of it. It’s contagious, and it’s a lot more strong than we think.
Send a greeting card.
Stamps are now $0.55, I believe. It only costs less than a $1 to make someone’s day. Handwritten messages are timeless, and they are always appreciated when they are received.
Spend time with them.
These days, time is a valuable thing. As a result, we must be deliberate in our use of technology so that we do not rush through our days without recognizing those around us.
When someone is in need of encouragement, your presence can be just what they require to lift their spirits. It might be a good 10 minutes or an entire afternoon of focused attention.
Quality time, regardless of its quantity, can have a huge impact on others’ encouragement. I’ve said that 10 minutes of quality time can give me a week’s worth of energy! It’s a huge difference.
Give them encouragement by spending meaningful time with them.
Tell them that you are praying for them. Inform them of your intentions to pray for them. One suggestion is to pray specific Scriptures for individuals based on their needs. For example, you could base a prayer for someone in pain on
Romans 15:13: “[I pray that] the God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you will overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Praise them. Add a few words of praise for someone’s abilities and accomplishments when introducing them. You could also describe how they have aided you or the nature of your relationship. It encourages people to be complimented in front of others.
Send some flowers. A surprise delivery elevates any occasion or accomplishment and serves as a tangible reminder that you are thinking of someone even when they are not present
Be specific in your words. If you inquire, “How can I assist?” The individual may be unable to respond. It is preferable to ask, “Would it help if I…” rather than say, “I would like to…”
When you offer words of encouragement, be specific; this makes your words more credible and concrete: “You did an excellent job at…”, “I am grateful that you…”, “I was very impressed when you…”
Encourage other believers by reminding them of Christ’s coming. It shifts our focus to an eternal perspective and our ultimate deliverance from sin and death. We who are still alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds and flown to meet the Lord in the air. As a result, we will spend eternity with the Lord. As a result, encourage one another with these words.
Remind fellow Christians of the specific promises of God and characteristics of God. The Apostle Peter wrote, “I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.

Let us pray
O Lord, I give you my worries and concerns and I ask for your guidance. You see it all, the outer circumstances, the inner turmoil. I know that you understand my life, that sometimes my heart weighs heavy with trouble. Right now I lay all these things before you. I breathe in, safe in the knowledge that I am held by grace. I breathe out, knowing that I am held secure in your arms. And I wait on you. For you are all truth, you are overflowing love, you are a beacon of hope and a fortress of faith. Lord, I choose to be attentive to your voice. May I be alert to your Spirit’s guiding as I journey onwards with you.
I love you Father. Amen.
