“I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be”
I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be. you’ve probably heard. If you can say that today, it means you’re on the right track. The truth is that all of our lives are under construction, and the road to progress can be messy and slow at times. When you’re feeling down, remember that God is at work in you, apostle Paul says:
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).
God is at work in you. You will reach the completion phases because God will keep His promises to you.
When God spoke to Abraham, the father of our faith, he was living in a land where his father and relatives had settled
“Go from your country, people, and father’s household to the land I’ll show you. I will bless you and make you a great nation; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing ” (Genesis 12:1-2). “
I want to take you and make you,” God was simply saying to him. Abraham, I am at work in you. He willingly trusted God to take him to a foreign land, and he trusted God to fully transform him into the person He created him to be.
God promised to make Abraham a great nation, to magnify his name, and to bless all people on earth through him. God kept His promises to Abraham, and it was through Abraham’s lineage that Jesus Christ came into the world. As a result of our faith in Jesus Christ, you and I are Abraham’s descendants (Galatians 3:29).
The same thing happened when Jesus summoned His disciples and said,
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). “
I will make you” means He will give us the ability to become everything He has called us to be. As you can see, God’s pattern is to take us and make us. He’s telling us what He told Abraham: “I’d like to bless you and turn you into a blessing. I’m going to finish My work in you and get you to your destination.”
God did not call Abraham because his faith was perfect. God called him because he was willing to follow and believe God, and along the way he “was strengthened in faith” by God’s promise (Romans 4:20). That’s how Abraham became a “God-made man,” and it’s how we do as well. All you have to do is be willing, and He will take and make you.
Five reasons God is at working in your life.
“Jesus replied, ‘You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.’” John 13:7 (NLT)
What is God doing and where is He? That is a question I have always asked myself. I’ve often asked Him in the midst of my darkest moments. What I didn’t realize was how God is always at work in the background. Even when you are unable to see Him. Recognize Him. Listen to Him.
Are you going through a trying time? May be it’s Illness, or maybe you’re stuck in a rut in your marriage. Is it possible that it has something to do with your financial situation? Whatever it is, your life feels like a frozen field on a cold winter day. You look out the windows at first light to see that it is still dark outside and that a blanket of snow covers the ground. Life appears to be dreary, cold, dead, and bleak.
But what we don’t see is what’s going on beneath the surface, concealed beneath the ground. Nutrients are being broken down into the soil beneath that blanket of snow. The seeds are germinating and the roots are growing deeper.
When Spring arrives, we can see for ourselves that there was something going on during the Winter season. Flowers bloom, little green shoots emerge from the earth, caterpillars and butterflies abound, and animals emerge from their winter sleep.
We can’t help but notice God’s hand work as we enter Spring. It’s a reminder that God is always working on the future behind the scenes. These seasons serve as reminders that God is always at work, regardless of what I see or don’t see.
And, regardless of how I am feeling, God is at work. God is the one who changes our circumstances, not the other way around. We can remember that God is faithful and truthful to His promises even when we can’t see Him. He is constantly at work.
God is always at work, regardless of what I see or don’t see, and certainly regardless of how I feel. God is unaffected by the circumstances. I need to remember that God is loyal and true, even when things around me are changing or appear unclear. He is constantly at work.
1.Learning to See What Isn’t Visible
God is at work in your life to develop your spiritual eyes. We tend to concentrate on what we can feel, taste, or see. When my faith begins to waver, I turn to the Bible and recall the stories in which God was at work behind the scenes to remind myself of His reality.
2.He’s revealing His purpose.
We pray and fast, believing we’ve made the right choice, only to see everything come apart around us. The job didn’t work out, the diagnosis turned out to be more serious than anticipated, or the answer is no. But we can rest assured that He is at work behind the scenes, carrying out His plan one day at a time.
Jesus replied,
“You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:7
3.He’s instilling hope in you.
The heartbeat of God’s promises is hope. He assists us in rising beyond our circumstances. God wants you to hope regardless of your circumstances.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
4.To reveal His plans to us.
His plans are to prosper us and to give us hope.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.Jeremiah 29:11
5.He is building confidence in you.
It’s difficult to trust on God when we’ve grown accustomed to relying on ourselves. The Bible, on the other hand, teaches us how to put our trust in God rather than in ourselves.
The Bible paints a picture of what it will be like when we gain genuine faith in God. His Word demonstrates that no matter what tomorrow brings, He will keep us steadfast in His intentions for our good.
“He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalm 121:3,4
What you should be doing while God is at work in you
While God’s actions may appear to be concealed from view, we can rest assured that He is at work. We are not enslaved by our surroundings or predicament. He desires that we maintain our focus fixed on Him, our hearts in prayer, and our spirits in the Word. Even David, who questioned how God was functioning and asked, “Why am I discouraged?” realized the power of hope in God.
What is it about my heart that makes it so sad? I’m going to put my faith in God! I’ll praise him once more–my Savior and God!” Psalm 42:5 is a verse from the book of Psalms. Other objects or people are used by God to instill hope, faith, and trust. Everything is working out for your good, strengthening your faith and character.
He’s working out a plan that will benefit you, and He’ll be there with you every step of the way. every step of the way We may be confident in our waiting and continue to take one step at a time.
