A few days ago, power went off from our house, I decided to go to the mall to buy a solar lamp . I saw some little solar lights that I thought would be perfect one to light my path on the side of our house where I’d frequently stumble in the dark. So I bought the lights and installed them along the walkway. Only to discover that they were not turned on, I noticed a tiny button I needed to pull to allow the light to be powered by daylight, and they worked properly right away.
How to light your path
According to the apostle John, Jesus Christ is the light of the world, and the darkness of this world will not be able to overpower it.
Jesus says, “If you follow Me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path” (John 8:12).
Maybe you’re having trouble recognizing Jesus in all of his glory. Perhaps you’ve allowed some things to obstruct God’s light in your life. Perhaps the light is being obstructed by busyness, or perhaps it is being obstructed by anger and unforgiveness. Maybe some of your friends who don’t share your values are negatively affecting your progress more than you’d like to admit. They have no concept of the significance of being in God’s house or the value of prayer and worship. However, because they’ve been friends for a long time, you keep allowing them to lure you away.
Therefore, I encourage you to begin putting aside whatever is preventing you from fully exposing yourself to God’s light.
The Scripture says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
It will light upon you, clearing the darkness and pointing you on the right course in life. Some of the craziness in your routine can be removed. By expressing forgiveness to people who have wronged you, you can say no to the wrath and resentment. Don’t let friends get in the way of spending time with God in His Word and prayer, and don’t let even good things get in the way of spending time with God in His Word and prayer.
It’s time to open the tab and let all of the light in. Remove anything that is obstructing the light and allow God’s presence to shine on you and illuminate your life. I want to challenge you to sit with God and read His Word for 10 minutes today, tomorrow, and the next day. Allow His light to shine on you and light your path.
