Prayer is the lifeblood of any Christian religion. At all times, a faithful Christian will be seen praying. There are a couple of things that can cause God to answer your prayers. Because of the way we present ourselves to God, He does not always respond to our prayers.
You want God to do something for you, but you haven’t done what he asks of you, for example. Then you find out that the problem you were having is still there. The best thing you can do in this situation is to keep praying by first performing the following:
1.Read some scriptures before praying.
The Bible says, “Let the word of the Lord dwell richly in us.” If you read the Bible before going before Him, you will discover how to pray and the requirements for doing so. As a result, cultivating the habit of reading the Bible is vital.
2.Clear your mind of any worries you’ve been hearing all day or all night.
Calm your thoughts and be at peace before approaching the Lord for prayer. This will help you focus and concentrate on the task at hand.
3.Double-check that you’ve forgiven anyone who has wronged you.
When you pray to the Lord, it is normal for you to ask Him to forgive you for the wrongs you have done. You can’t expect God to forgive you if you haven’t forgiven those who have wronged you. It’s vital to forgive and let go of all your hurts and bitterness before going before the Lord.
4.Stay away from the distructions.
When fasting, for example, you must stay away from meals that can attempt you. Turn off all electrical devices, including the television and radio, as well as anything else that can cause you to become distracted. In order to spend quiet and quality time with the Lord God Almighty, it is sometimes important to turn off your phone.
5.It is necessary to fast from time to time in order to sacrifice the flesh.
You may be having difficulty resisting your fleshly desires. When you discover that your body has conquered your mind and taken possession of you, you are not crucifying your flesh.
You’ll note that whether you’re fasting or not fasting when you come before the Lord, you’ll be in various moods. It will help you to grow in your faith and spiritual life.
