1. Prayer for the sick person
You have complete control over all of the parts of my body, and you know when they aren’t performing properly. I’m stressed out because I’m sick, and it takes time away from all the things I want to do. I’m telling it like it is, Lord. I despise being sick. But it’s times like these that help me rest in you, therefore I’m grateful for the opportunity to simply wait on you.
Lord, I came to you today to seek for your touch. Allow me to remain patient while you finish your assignment. If doctors are involved, please bestow wisdom onto them, and thank you for providing the assistance I require, whichever you choose to do so. I want my response to honor you, whether this is a test or simply a time to trust.
As my Good Shepherd, I know you will guide me to peaceful places where my soul and body will be restored. I have faith in you and wish to follow your example. Help me to see this time as an opportunity to gather strength and nourishment for the trip ahead, rather than as a disruption in my well planned itinerary. You are my Great Physician and healer. I lift my eyes to you and thank you for the promises in your Word that assure me of your presence and assistance.
Lord, show me what you want me to learn in these trying times. Help me not to take out my frustrations on others, and teach me how to be a good patient while I’m recovering. I’m trusting you, Lord, in these days of sickness, and I’m asking you to heal me. Give me insight so that I can treat my body as the temple of your Spirit once you’ve restored my health. I’m eager to get back on my feet and serve you again, but I recognize that I may still draw near to you even when I’m sick.
2. Intercessory prayer for sick and suffering friends
The Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that You will grant my sick friends relief. They’ve been sick for a long time, and it’s beginning to affect their capacity to care for themselves and others who rely on them. God, please be the source of strength, comfort, and healing for them. I beg You to assist them in healing and regaining their strength. Assist them in bringing their community together to help them until they are able to care for themselves once more. Amen.
Thank you very much, Jesus. Amen!
3. Intercessory prayer for sick and suffering friend
God, I can’t imagine how my sick friend is feeling. There is so much I will never know about the medication, the physicians, and the suffering. But, God, You know what I’m talking about. I request that you assist my friend. I’m not sure what I should be asking You or what kind of relief I’d like You to provide them. But God knows, and I don’t have to since You do. Lord, please work in them. You already know how to do it. Amen.

Amen.
