Philippians 4:7 refers to “the peace of God which transcends all understanding.” Most of Paul’s letters began with the words “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Peace is a state of tranquility or quietness of spirit that transcends circumstances. It’s a gift from God.
God’s presence is Peace
Know God is to bask in His peace. The closer we draw to Him, the we can enjoy this precious Gift(James 4:8). God gives us clear instructions about how to draw near to Him to experience His peace.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27)
Come to Jesus
We come into the presence of the Lord through His Son (John 14:6).Through Jesus death and resurrection sins are forgiven because Jesus already paid the price for them. Only then we can have peace with God (Romans 4:5; 5:1; 1 John 4:10).
Know God more
Second Peter 1:2 says,
“May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord” (NLT).
When we grow in knowing of God and His love toward us (Ephesians 3:18–19; Romans 8:38–39), our minds and spirits begin to rest in His power and wisdom. We begin to understand that He really will make all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). We learn that His purposes will be accomplished (Psalm 33:11)and His plans for us are good.
Trust in God
Certain attitudes can destroy the peace of God. When we think that God will give us whatever we want, we set ourselves up for disappointment. Trust means we have set our hearts to believe God, whatever may happen. Let’s choose faith not worry. Jesus warned us often about fear and worry (Matthew 6:34).”,Worry is the enemy of peace.
God knows every our tomorrows. Nothing will happen what He is not aware of .God invites us to cast our cares upon Him and then let go of them (1 Peter 5:7).Jesus is interested and concerned about every detail of our lives. What is important to us, it’s important to our Lord Jesus. We can walk into future will full confidence because of Him.
“Overcome evil with good”. Romans 12:21
If we do that we will be peaceful. When we do opposite, it will result in unrest, around and within us.Overcoming evil with good gradually we will learn way of peace.
Find peace in faithful love of God
Peace in our lives unfold as we learn more about God. Discovering that His character is always faithful,we experience that He is always good and lean more on His promises (Psalm 100:115)
We learn to bask in God’s overwhelming love for us (Romans 8:38–39). refuse to allow ever-changing circumstances to determine us, relying instead upon the love of God that never changes.
Our God is stable and constant. He is true to what He says.We cannot add or take away from His love. It’s already encompassing and complete. We can depend on Him.Loving and serving God gives security. His love is perfect and gives us safety. Even in the midst of the worst circumstances we can have deep peace inside of us.
Peace in safety of God’s wings
When we develop a lifestyle of making the Lord our refuge, we begin to live in the peace of God.
“He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1.
That secret place in our hearts is where we go to meet with God. When we choose to live there and hide away under His shadow, staying in constant communion with Him, we can remain peaceful, even when circumstances may not be. When we learn to cry out to Him in times of trouble, we find that His peace really does pass all human understanding. It’s beyond the circumstances.
PEACE greater than trouble
Jesus Christ has not promised to prevent trouble. However, He has promised to hold us tight and go with me through the trouble.
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23: 4).
We receive strength one day at a time because of His promises. With His peace there’s no reason for fear. We are the most secure and safe when we are IN JESUS,when we abide in His love.
